If I was to ask you what your favorite restaurant is, I’m sure I would get 1000 different answers depending on who I was asking. You’d get many different opinions and suggestions even if you went to the Food Network channel, the experts on all things dealing with food, and asked the stars from different shows. Even on the same program like “The Kitchen” that’s aired on Saturday mornings, the answer Jeff Mauro (The Sandwich King) would give is in a totally different ballpark from what Geoffrey Zakarian would suggest.

Here at the Acorn Blog, we were curious about what the average American would tell us about their favorite eatery. I know that just about any kid would say Mcdonald’s was the bee’s knees, but we are aiming for something in-between fast food and Le Bernardin French Restaurant in New York City. I don’t want a Big Mac and French fries, but I also am not looking at Beef Bourguignon and Haricots Verts. So we want to know, talking to the average American, what qualities are they looking for in a favorite restaurant?

The simple answer is there isn’t a one-size-fits-all to what qualities the average American looks for in a favorite restaurant, as individual preferences and tastes can vary widely. However, some common qualities that many Americans may consider important in a favorite restaurant include the following:

Good food: High-quality and tasty food is often the most important factor when selecting a favorite restaurant. People want to enjoy the flavors and textures of the dishes they are served.

Variety: Many Americans appreciate a restaurant that offers a diverse menu, with options for different tastes, dietary needs, and budgets.

Value: While price is not always the determining factor, many Americans appreciate a restaurant that offers good value for their money. They want to feel that they are getting a fair deal for the quality of food and service they receive.

Ambiance: A restaurant’s atmosphere and overall vibe can also be important. Many Americans prefer a comfortable and welcoming space that is conducive to dining and socializing.

Service: Friendly and attentive service can make a big difference in whether a restaurant becomes a favorite. People want to feel welcome and appreciated by the staff.

Cleanliness: A clean and well-maintained restaurant can help customers feel confident in the quality and hygiene of their food.

Convenience: Location and accessibility can also be essential factors in choosing a favorite restaurant. Many Americans prefer a restaurant that is easy to get to and has ample parking.

Overall, it’s important to remember that what makes a restaurant a favorite eatery can be highly subjective and dependent on individual tastes and preferences.

Another critical fact to consider is what part of the country we are asking people this question. Someone in Boston will give a different answer from someone living in Santa Fe. So let’s focus this blog post on what someone in Colorado might say. How does the tastes of people living in Colorado differ from those living elsewhere concerning restaurants?

Again, individual preferences can vary widely regardless of where someone lives. However, some unique regional flavors and ingredients that are popular in Colorado may influence locals’ food preferences.

The state is known for its emphasis on locally sourced and sustainable ingredients, with many restaurants and chefs placing a strong focus on using fresh and seasonal produce from nearby farms and ranches. This emphasis on farm-to-table cuisine can be seen across various restaurant types, from high-end fine dining establishments to more casual eateries.

Additionally, Colorado has a rich history of Southwestern and Mexican cuisine, which can be seen in the popularity of dishes like green chili, Navajo tacos, and street tacos. The state is also known for its craft beer scene, with many breweries and brewpubs offering unique and innovative beer flavors that appeal to locals and tourists.

Overall, while there may be some unique regional influences on the food preferences of people who live in Colorado, it’s important to remember that the United States population is highly transitory. When focusing on the population of that area, you must consider that a large percentage of customers are from elsewhere. Having a wide variety of dishes on your menu might be the way to appeal to a large customer base with a broad range of tastes.

Now let us focus a little deeper, and what are some of the best restaurants to eat at in Denver, Colorado? Denver has a vibrant and diverse food scene, and there are many excellent restaurants to choose from. Here are some recommendations for some of the best restaurants to eat at in Denver, Colorado:

Acorn: This restaurant in the RiNo (River North) neighborhood features contemporary American cuisine focusing on seasonal, locally sourced ingredients. The menu includes creative small plates, wood-fired dishes, and craft cocktails.

Guard and Grace: This upscale steakhouse in downtown Denver offers a range of high-quality cuts of meat, an extensive wine list, and an elegant atmosphere.

Snooze: A.M. Eatery: This popular breakfast and brunch spot has several locations throughout Denver and is known for its creative twists on classic breakfast dishes, such as pancake flights and breakfast pot pies.

Mercantile Dining & Provision: This restaurant in the Union Station neighborhood features a market and bakery, a menu focusing on artisanal ingredients, and creative, seasonally-inspired dishes.

Fruition Restaurant: This upscale eatery in the Capitol Hill neighborhood offers New American cuisine focusing on seasonality and sustainability and has received numerous accolades for its food and service. These are just a few of the many excellent restaurants to choose from in Denver, and there are many more to explore, depending on what you are looking for.

Everything mentioned above are all fine examples of an eclectic mix of restaurants in Denver. The criteria that the Acorn Blog is looking for is it has to be great food mixed with great drinks. Also, this restaurant has to have high-end food staples that Geoffrey Zakarian would “slap ya mama” for, but also offer a simple Philly Cheese Steak that Jeff Mauro would eat with his little finger sticking out. Simply put, WE WANT IT ALL!!!

The establishment we have decided upon is Prost Brewing Company in Denver, Colorado. Prost Brewery can also be found in Ft. Collins and Highlands Ranch. If you are near the Denver Front Range area, odds are there will be a Prost near you, and I will drink to that!

Prost Brewing Company is a German-style brewery founded in 2012 by two friends, Michael Ring, and Eric Johnson, located in the River North Art District of Denver, Colorado. The locations offer a casual atmosphere with outdoor seating and skyline views. Prost specializes in German-style beers, including Kölsch, Helles, and Märzen. They also have a variety of other beers on tap, including IPAs, stouts, and porters. In addition to beer, Prost also offers a wide range of options on their menu.

If you are looking for a higher end, you could get the Doner Kebab, which consists of a Lamb patty, bacon, tzatziki, tomato, and garlic aioli on flatbread. If you are in the mood for a simple burger, then you are in luck with the Biergarten Burger. This place has it all, and if you are looking for a small appetizer, you can always get French fries or Fingerling Smashers. Other great options include sausages, pretzels, and other German staples. Prost is a great place to relax and enjoy a cold beer with friends.

The staff at Prost Brewing Company is friendly and knowledgeable about their beer. They are always happy to recommend a beer to you or to answer any questions you may have about the brewing process.

Overall, Prost Brewing Company is a great place to enjoy German-style beer and some delicious food. The brewery has a wide variety of beers to choose from, the food is delicious, and the atmosphere is casual and relaxed. What else could anyone want?

Here are some of the pros and cons of Prost Brewing Company:
